The medieval \u201ctovaglie perugine\u201d (the medieval tablecloths of Perugia) and the art of weaving<\/h2>\r\n

Our journey will lead us to discover the ancient textile tradition of Perugia<\/strong> which has its roots in medieval times.<\/p>\r\n

We will start from the so-called \u201cmajor art\u201d production<\/strong>, that of the fresco<\/strong>, which will lead us to discover a little-known place in our city and rarely open to the public, the convent of Poor Clare nuns of Sant’Agnese<\/strong> in which the great painter of the Italian Renaissance, Pietro Vannucci<\/strong> , known as Perugino, left his masterpiece the Virgin of graces and saints.<\/p>\r\n

A short distance away we will arrive at the Giuditta Brozzetti textile laboratory<\/a><\/strong>. Here, Marta, the great-granddaughter of Giuditta, who still hands down the art of medieval weaving, will guide us in her workshop and give us a demo of her textile production.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
