In 2010, the cultural association “Artisan workshops of the historic centre” of Perugia began promoting the ArtiCity project.

This project envisages the creation of a logo that gives us a cohesive image of the craftsmen who have their workshops in the city’s historic centre. In particular, a trademark , connected with the already defined logo of the city of Perugia, has been designed. This trademark identifies the artisan workshops of the historic centre as well as the production of graphic documentation (brochures, videos, websites) illustrating the different processing phases and the finished products of all the artisan workshops as well as the urban context of the historic centre in which they work.

Promoting the historic, artistic and cultural heritage of the city and spreading knowledge about the region can become an important instrument to encourage effective socio-economic and cultural development. This objective can be reached by making the community aware of their city’s treasures.

Creating a climate of discussion and collaboration among us craftsmen was important to implement this project. We share the motivations and the passion that are at the basis of our choice to be craftsmen, similar histories although each of our activities is different, relationships with the city to which we contribute with our work, a desire to contribute to the future of our city by promoting a new artisan and artistic environment in which new generations can be protagonists.

Thanks to the contribution of the Chamber of Commerce, Banca di Mantignana and the sponsorship of CNA (National confederation of craftsmen and small and medium enterprises) and Confartigianato (Confederation of Craftsmen) this project could be implemented.
